Thomas is a lawyer with a background in music studies, who developed his career as artistic manager and casting director in opera theatres in Chile and Brazil. He has an MSc in Social Anthropology from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he focused on performing arts organizations. He has acted as jury member of international music competitions and has been invited as guest speaker and columnist to discuss arts education and performing arts management issues. As consultant and head of business development for an Anglo-American theatre and design consulting company, he worked on projects for major clients, including private companies, governments, non-profits, universities, and other entertainment venues.

Thomas has vast experience in making targeted interventions to tackle the issue of creating and developing new audiences, an increasing concern for performing arts organisations around the world. His strategic outlook is informed by anthropological insight to obtain effective and efficient results. As artistic consultant, he finds ways of transforming cultural institutions to obtain artistic, operational, and financial sustainability.
