TYB Arts is delighted to announce the expansion of its collaboration with internationally acclaimed pianist Boris Giltburg, to assume worldwide general management. The new agreement marks a natural evolution of a highly successful partnership that began three years ago, during which TYB Arts has represented Giltburg throughout the German-speaking territories and Spain.
Widely regarded as one of the most compelling pianists of his generation, Giltburg is celebrated for his unique blend of poetic imagination and analytical insight. His profound explorations of composers such as Beethoven, Rachmaninov, and Ravel have earned international critical acclaim.
Giltburg’s extensive list of previous engagements includes the Czech Philharmonic, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Kirill Petrenko, the LPO, RPO and Philharmonia, Finnish Radio Symphony, Orchestre National de France, Oslo Philharmonic, NHK Symphony, and Gewandhaus Orchestra, as well as recitals at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, BOZAR in Brussels, Southbank Centre in London and Vienna Konzerthaus.
Highlights this season include his debut in the Elbphilharmonie’s Grand Hall, the KBS Symphony in Seoul and the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa. He will also be performing Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under Edward Gardner. As Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall, he gives three recitals exploring Prokofiev, alongside appearances at Le Grand Récital in Lausanne, Premiere Performances in Hong Kong, the Berlin Piano Festival, and Portland Piano International, where he serves as Guest Artistic Curator. As Artist-in-Residence with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, he works with Mark Wigglesworth; other engagements include appearances with the North Carolina Symphony, the Osaka Philharmonic under Kahchun Wong, the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Residentie Orkest, the Tampere Philharmonic, and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra under Thierry Fischer in performances of the complete Beethoven piano concertos. He also reunites with his frequent collaborators, the Pavel Haas Quartet, for chamber music performances at the Seoul Arts Center.
Recently, his live recording of Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas launched the digital-exclusive partnership between Wigmore Hall and Apple Music Classical. His most recent recording of early Rachmaninov piano cycles, a Gramophone Editor’s Choice, is the latest instalment in his complete recordings of the composer.
